#3 Artistic Works Mini-series of My Europe Trip - #myeuropaplog series

In this mini-series, I have picked a few photographic works of mine that I like the most, and they are somehow considered, if you allow, artistic. I enjoyed taking photos during my trip. This has brought enormous satisfaction for me as a means of connecting with the surroundings.

I love these two photos a lot. It represents how I feel about visiting an European city… The history is there, but you don’t quite feel it when you are living in it.

Art is a sacred term for me, so I use Artistic Works. But tag-wise, I need to inflate myself a little bit to use this tag. Hope you understand, and enjoy these works. :)

🐩 This might be how a typical Korean girl joins Steemit 🐩

Let’s say there is a common Korean girl named Hyun. Hyun is 23 years old and just graduated from college a while ago. She has got herself a common job in a common company in Seoul. It ain’t easy at all. She studied hard in a second-tier college and got good grades. Been to dozens of interviews to finally get herself a place in this prosperous and bustling capital city. She earned it. She started working diligently and she cherished her job.

How could she know anything crypto? No way. Then explain why she is here with us now, on a blockchain social media. Hyun! where are you? come out and say hi! Okay, don’t wait for her. Let me tell you why.

Hyun!

Hyun is just like any other Koreans in her age. She enjoys making herself attractive and she, like millions of young girls around the globe, enjoys the feeling of falling in love with (aka being a fan of) some Korean Pop (aka K-Pop) boy groups… Reasonable? Let’s continue …

One day, she was searching for contact lenses that her friend recommended. She googled EOS.

Instead of this

https://steemitimages.com/DQmXgcCw3Drzj79MZjCvFbsXTmUbu9HLWuq3Eb5JVrtjtv7/image.png

She found this.

“What the… “ She thought. “I don’t want the black color!“.

But she finished reading it and felt as if she’d found alien species.

https://steemitimages.com/DQmQY1vFnPbzek66yhwsLBe4NMjPVi2Tjzq6gUZX7TGgRyB/image.png

Then the next day, she though she should check on her dear hubbies so she googled again for their twitter. This time BTS.

Instead of this,

https://steemitimages.com/DQmQSbzLsuVZxKZtfNvw6wgHasHooxYf6q8mNYJcYsEK2xJ/image.png

She found this.

What the… “ She thought. “I don’t know any investment!“.

But she finished reading it and felt as if she’d found some gangster lingo site but she loved it.

https://steemitimages.com/DQmesFWmxRf66J7PFfaUwCt1JbqG4uNP3eaGqLWFKU6bYDa/image.png

So the story went on when the boyfriend of her neighbor’s cousin told her about Steemit two months ago. She googled it again and found out - holy shit! they are all connected

I am so gonna join!!“ She shouted.

There you go. BAM!! Hyun is here now. I don’t know her name. But everyone can be Hyun.

Once she becomes crypto, there is no turning back. Thanks to contact lenses and K-Pop.

By the way, the story explains this too. :)

Thank God finally I can get it out of my chest. I have never seen anyone talking about the K-pop BTS and Bitshares. FYI, @stellebella wrote one funny EOS post, and @ats-david mentioned about the Canon EOS here. That’s about it. Hope you enjoy my story. Oops, sorry. Hyun’s story. :D

Trdelnik for Tradeqwik Oh I miss VIVA - #myeuropaplog series

People travel to get away from their daily lives. It doesn’t matter if the life is good or bad, travelers just need to put everything behind and go ahead experience a whole new world… But sometimes we don’t get what we want because human beings have attachment. You might see a little foreign boy running by and start missing your own one at home. You might come across something that reminds you of someone back home.

I had tried not to think about crypto things during my Europe trip in May. I did use eSteem/Steemit to record my photo log, but I tried to keep it at a minimum. Still, I was reminded again and again due to different things I saw there.

Today I am going to share with you how I was reminded of my dear friends from VIVA!

VIVA is an ambitious project that aims to create an VIVAconomy ( @vivacoin ), i.e. an ecosystem built upon the token system of VIVA - Vivacoin, Viva Crowns, vX … An integral part of the VIVAconomy is its exchange - TradeQwik ( @tradeqwik ). Check the website or white paper shall you get interested.

Okay. When I was visiting Prague. I was forced to remember TradeQwik. Because I saw Trdelnik everywhere!!

Tradeqwik … Trdelnik with aqw but no l & n!

You see!? They look so much alike!! So I took photos of Trdeniks everywhere I saw it. I will tell you what that is in a minute. You might say that’s how much I love VIVA and its exchange… LOL…

Now, let me present you …. Trdelniks!!

Trdelník

This is food, a kind of spit cake. The word “trdelník” is of Czech or Slovak origin. I only saw this in Prague, Czech Republic and obviously this is their daily snacks. Just everywhere. It is made from rolled dough that is wrapped around a stick, then grilled and topped with sugar and walnut mix. Sometimes you can have it with ice cream. I like it but only tried once with ice cream.

VIVA is actually a even more common term used everywhere. I did see it a couple of times like Viva Prague on a badge souvenir … but did not bother to take photos … Except I did take one in a Bratislava gas station. :)

https://steemitimages.com/DQmRVyh8dE7ih8jLeA5d9TrkGCcu41NVfPEgQRmaCS8Kq11/_20170616_082517.JPG

Okay. Finish talking about my love for tradeqwik/trdelnik, let me update with you its newest development, which you can check from their official account @tradeqwik. A week ago, TradeQwik has launched its token TQS offering. It is still on now. You can open an account on https://live.tradeqwik.com/signup and participate its ongoing auction. TQS offers the opportunity for you to share the profits generated from the TradeQwik exchange, which is the main pumping heart of the VIVAconomy. By the way, TQS is selling at 5 Vivacoins now, which is about $27… It is likely to reach 8-10 Vivacoins during the coming weekend but I do not guarantee :)

Cha Cha Thé - When the East meets the West and When Literature meets Delicacy

No. Literature first, then delicacy.

“Shi-jing”  《

“Classic of Poetry” or “Shi-jing”
is one of my favorite ancient Chinese classical reading. It is the oldest existing collection of Chinese poetry, comprising 305 works dating from the 11th to 7th centuries BC. You may refer to its wiki link for a more detailed introduction. The reason why I love it is that language in this poetry is unfamiliarly ancient yet its subject is so vivid and resonating with its expression so passionate and full of energy. Yet, when you read this poetry orally, you will find that it’s like singing a song without rhythms! I memorize many poems from it - sometimes they provide energy and sometimes they heal your heart. That’s how amazing they are. Wisdom from our ancestors. Remarkable!

http://wx.cclawnet.com/sjjscd/images/3.1.jpg

Next, a poem from it.

Cǎi cǎi fú yǐ, báo yán cǎi zhī.

Cǎi cǎi fú yǐ, báo yán
yǒu zhī.

Cǎi cǎi fú yǐ, báo yán duó zhī.

Cǎi cǎi fú yǐ, báo yán luó zhī.

Cǎi cǎi fú yǐ, báo yán jié zhī.

Cǎi cǎi fú yǐ, báo yán xié zhī.

We gather and gather the plantains; Now we may gather them.

We gather and gather the plantains; Now we have got them.

We gather and gather the plantains; Now we pluck the ears.

We gather and gather the plantains; Now we rub out the seeds.

We gather and gather the plantains; Now we place the seeds in our skirts.

We gather and gather the plantains; Now we tuck out skirts under our girdles.

[From Section “The South of Zhou“ (or Zhou Nan), Chapter “Airs of the States“ (or Guó fēng), The Classic of Poetry]

You can see from the above phonetic transcription version. Its sentence structure is almost identical! Actually only one Chinese character change per line and it comes out as such a beautiful poem! Talking about the power of words… These poets are the best of the best. As you can see from the translation, it is interpreted to describe daily lives of women during a peaceful and prosperous period in Ancient China. Simple and beautiful, isn’t it!?

By the way, plantains here refer to Plantago asiatica, a kind of commonly seen weeds. Not banana trees.

Cha Cha Thé

A rather new and delicate brand/company was founded in 2009 with a name inspired by the most frequently used term “cǎi cǎi” in the above Poem (due to different spelling system, the name of the brand becomes Cha Cha). The name tries to capture the essence of traditional Chinese culture, especially those associated with tea. The following is a quote from the company’s introduction

Tea as we know, it is from southern China, it is one of the cultural roots of the Han culture. Its golden color has seduced Asia, as well as western countries which consider it to be a symbol of social status and taste: Fortnum & Mason in the U.K. and Mariage Frères in France are well-known examples. Japan sharing with us many cultural traits, has undoubtedly perpetuated the tradition of the ceremony of Tea, while adding the spirit of Zen into it. Although in Taiwan, we pride ourselves to be a country of cultural sophistication, however, until now, there was not any significant Tea brand of our own, positioned on the international stage.

Wang Chen Tsai-Hsia, Designer in Chief, founder and soul of Shiatzy Chen, has always dedicated herself to the renewal of Chinese fashion. After 35 years of leadership in the world of fashion, she spent more than 2 years of reflection to create a new brand “Cha Cha Thé” in a different field, hoping to found new inspiration in developing Chinese aesthetics.

This brand, in my personal opinion, is the proud of Taiwan, or even the proud of the entire Chinese people. As it is a refinement of our traditional culture and turns it into something modern and chic. The photos here were taken by me in a branch store of Cha Cha The. It is located in a department store so this shop focuses on pastry, freshly baked or gift-boxed.

Feel like having a bite yourself?… hmm…. Let me do it for ya!~~~ :)

The Eating Up  吃給你看

Cha Cha’s prices aren’t cheap at all, but we can still afford a cheese cake. Thank God!

It costs TWD$180, or USD$6 per piece. So we took one home and ate it with tea. Yummy! When I ate it, I can’t help thinking of those happy women three thousand years ago …

[Luxury Hotel Series] 🏩 Intercontinental Budapest 🏩 The Room - #myeuropaplog series

This post is a combination of my old [Luxury Hotel Series] and recent MyEuropaPlog series. Budapest is the last city we visited during our trip to Europe in May. Since we expected that we would, and we actually were, exhausted, we decided to spend a small fortune on accomodation. Our final decision goes to Intercontinental as we used to have great experience with Intercon and this one in Budapest is so famous for its spectacular river views! (yeah, you need to a little more to have riverview rooms!). Was it good? Well, let’s find out! :)

Let’s look around the Hotel’s surroundings …

Located beside the Duna River that seperates Buda and Pest and the #2 tramline runs along the riverside.

After checking in, we went up to our high floored riverview room! Can’t wait! We booked a twin bed room. Every thing looks pretty standard 5 star, but we did feel it is a little bit sub bar. Not so well attended I am afraid, from a 5 star perspective. The coffee machine looked fancy but not really fit our need.

Disappointed by its room facilities, our last hope was the view…. And there you go, the room has fought back to be a 5 star!! It was like a color-changing master piece giant painting outside our window… I couldn’t take my eyes off the window when I stayed in the room. Can I stay here forever?

Finally indeed there is a real painting inside the room. But I rarely looked at it. :)

01 🕒 Moments of Life #01

https://steemitimages.com/DQmcwJEee6bxobhQXzHSp3osupCFy7kg6PRDkZYMGuvYvgw/%E8%9E%A2%E5%B9%95%E5%BF%AB%E7%85%A7%202017-06-25%20%E4%B8%8A%E5%8D%8810.47.24.png
