A Simple Comparison - Buy Bitcoins in Taiwan and Sell them in Japan

I did a simple comparison today, comparing the bitcoin prices (buy/sell) at leading exchanges in Japan and Taiwan. This is not comprehensive at all, and the conclusion might even be wrong after a while, but I’d like to share this little piece of information to those interested.

Two exchanges I quote are:

Bitflyer  (https://bitflyer.jp/) from Japan  (so obviously they accept Yen for bitcoins)

https://steemitimages.com/DQmZquB8e5CYVQHQ2Rrj99x6t223ARNaidPvxxMsa1zE8cS/image.png

Bitoex (https://www.bitoex.com/) from Taiwan  (TWD for bitcoins)

https://steemitimages.com/DQmPhSamb3FhGoWSZjPv7TdNGUCmy3YuVhgQ1bQ8Y7VAUrT/image.png

The result is (using google to calculate the exchange rate for me, use TWD as base):

  • Japan: Sell @ 38,131 twd ; Buy @ 37,515 twd

  • Taiwan: Sell @ 37,989 twd ; Buy @ 36,060 twd

That means if you have no currency preferences, then you should buy bitcoin in Taiwan (but the advantage is very small), and if you seek to sell it, then sell it in Japan (big difference!).

Of course, these rates won’t beat poloniex in USD. But US account might be difficult for us to open. And many Taiwanese have large Yen demand (for tourism mostly).

YOYOW 與 Steemit/CN 的競爭?

https://steemitimages.com/DQmPfAmVESrnLjgkkfMie7q5fPAWPJZX6kjYMkKbCk6fWEc/image.png

Will YOYOW be better than Steemit?

Will YOYOW be better than Steemit?

YOYOW Series – Part 1

You Own Your Own Words (YOYOW) – Chinese willingness to pay for digital content

YOYOW K.O. Steemit/CN?

Decentralized Social Platform Steemit Taps Mitchell Loureiro as VP Marketing

Steemit/CN

A few paragraphs quoted …

Decentralized social media platform Steemit has announced a new marketing direction and the launch of a “crowdsourced growth” initiative. In a press release, CEO Ned Scott announced that Mitchell Loureiro as vice president of marketing would help in “taking Steemit from a crypto-centric project to a household name.”

“By leveraging the wisdom of the crowd to amplify and multiply the impact of marketing efforts we’ll build out countless sub-communities, each incentivized to grow until we join the ranks of the social media giants,” Scott added.

“We believe that the only way Steem growth can scale is for it to come from the community itself. So we’re going to create community-driven growth processes from the very start. That’s right everyone, we’re crowdsourcing growth for Steem.” [emphasis added by deanliu]
