Sharing good news with cn newbies!!

Free Steem GiveAway !!!! Im doing this because I think we need to get more Steem in the hands of newbies.

https://www.steemimg.com/images/2016/08/25/IMG_20160730_1515208fed8.png

DailyDialogue (beta) #0110 Auld Lang Syne

Not gonna explain the title if you do not already know it (see here for explanation and listen here for a great song for friendship). Basically it says:

HELLO! EVERYONE! I am back and I miss you and all this! So happy to be back!

If you follow this DailyDialogue for the first time, in the previous issue I declared to take a OWO (#oneweekoff) and yesterday I posted for the first time after one week. Later I will brief to you on this. I promised to return a better blogger and I think I do feel so as I feel more confident, more composed, with more energy. Hope you stay tuned to find out. Let’s do it from now. I have some new changes in this issue and I hope you like them.

Previously on DailyDialogue   #0001 , #0010 , #0011 , #0100 , #0101

Picture of the Day - I wrote a Dear Wang Letter yesterday and @wang upvoted, although later than I expected. This photo is for wang and all of you.

Something New at Steemit

I have two for you so far though I think there should be more as I was away for a whole week!

  1. Now we have a detailed payout breakdown. I will let my friend @myfirst tell you (click here).

  2. This one actually irritates me: as some of my earliest posts pass the one month mark, the system just erase all voters data (number shows 0 too)! Now who can I thank if one day I shall become a whale and wish to say thank you to early supporters? Something I don’t like about Steemit at the moment is that it keeps everyone focus on minutes, hours, at most days or weeks, and disregards things that last more than one month. What about those everything is and will be on blockchian claims? I might write another post to complain.

https://www.steemimg.com/images/2016/08/25/GreenBar6c584.png

Briefing on My OWO

I actually wrote a 7-day diary for this period. But a detailed experience sharing will be posted later as I don’t want to rush. Basically the conclusions are (taking into account what happened to my first return post):

  • You should do it too if you feel too occupied by all these Steemy stuffs. I gained so much during this week off - have time to keep up with my job requirement, have more time for my beloved family, have time to seriously read articles about blockchain world… refresh and energizing!

  • Nothing will change here that affect your status (from my experience). I am not talking Steem prices (oh yeah I know!), how many new things new works new collaborations have surfaced… but things that will affect you as an author. As you see, @wang keeps voting on me (of course I cannot rule out it is a one time thing, later I will know). You surly will lose the opportunity to post and earn, to vote and earn and to reply to connect, but that’s exactly what you need to let go.

After I return, I have decided to change a little bit. First, I wish to cultivate the #fun tag more often as I found out that people here are too tense and seriously need to laugh more often. This is partly due to something sad happened during the past week. Second. I will aspire myself to be a quality blogger here. Write less frequently and more selectively. Quoting from my unpublished diary,

Promise a journey, not just a sprint.

HuZ at Steemit

This is a brand new feature at #dailydialogue! I promised something new, didn’t I? In this place, I am gonna show you some most bizarre, interesting, terrible… figures that I have discovered. As Steemit is totally transparent, I hope the people I introduced won’t be mad as this is purely for a laugh. BTW, most of the time I won’t introduce celebrities - they have too much spotlights on them already. Okay without further ado, may I introduce, the most respected mentor in the Chinese history (check him out here)… Confucius is now on Steemit.

https://www.steemimg.com/images/2016/08/25/confu8295c.png

OMG, @confucius here has a negative reputation! Do you know how influential Confucius is in Chinese culture or even at his own time? Definitely highly positive like @danthesuperman . Okay, maybe Steemians here are yet to recognize his wisdom, which is true. See @confucius has only 10 followers. Do you know how many disciples (followers, students…) Confucius had back then? It is 3,000 - 3,000 disciples and many of them become masters later!! Nobody here can achieve that yet. Next, he follows no one. Reasonable, why should he? Then, what!?  ”confucius hasn’t started blogging yet!” Do you know how Confucius made a living back then? He talked and published to get paid or supported, so that means he blogged and A LOT. Fine. looks like @confucius did talk a lot as he has 2,462 posts!! That’s the most I have ever seen here. Well done bro, at least you are spreading your wisdom like your ancient counterpart. Let’s check out his wise teaching recently…

He who exercises government by means of his virtue may be compared to the north polar star, which keeps its place and all the stars turn towards it.

To know what you know and to know what you don’t know that is real wisdom.

To love a thing means wanting it to live.

Now I believe. That @confucius is a true master at Steemit. That he carries the ancient wisdom with him. That he is yet to be discovered, a hidden gem. Not as author, but a patient mentor that encourages you when you shall need it. Love you @confucius and I hope people here can appreciate you more (they need to click “Show” to see your hidden wisdom covered by prejudice). I have also seen your thin wallet. So as a token of respect and as a token of thank you for being my first HuZ figure, I have sent you one SBD token.

Thanks guys! Let’s say something nice to @confucius if you shall meet him commenting your post and upvote to his wisdom as well!

Welcome any suggestions and replies regarding this new experimental series! Just a reminder that it won’t be indeed daily. Welcome to tag along and grow together!

Unsubscribe please follow these steps: go to your page, click on Wallet, transfer STEEM or SBD of any amount, preferably larger, to @deanlliu. That’s it. No reasons asked. Hope to see you again soon!

A Dear Wang Letter - how I miss you and Steemit

Dear Wang,

I am writing this letter to you as my first post since 7 days ago (my #OWO initiative). Can’t express how nervous I am as I get to see in probably 15 mins after this letter sent if… you still love me… after this whole week’s absence. Let me look back in time how we met and how much love was developed between us, so I can have no regrets even if any cruel fact should reveal itself soon.

We first met when I came here. That was July 14 when I delivered my first and introductory post on Steemit with mixed feelings of excitement, curiosity and uncertainty. You came like an angle. Three minutes after I posted you left me a greeting starting with “Nice to have you on board! Here are some tips…”. I knew that you are probably non-human doing a standard welcome to a new comer, I know. But with a familiar Chinese name Wang (that’s why I borrow the eyes in this picture from Chien-Ming Wang, a MLB pitcher from Taiwan that once had two consecutive 19-wins seasons for the Yankees.) and as a first ‘people’ to greet me in this strange place, I imagine that you are a close friend of mine in this digital space - why should friendship be limited to humans anyway? That’s a good start for us.

At first I was struggling here, posting 14 times with only one over $1. You weren’t there. Then I met friends from cn community and they were so kind to me as well as pushing my historical payout record to double digits. You weren’t there too, not until my 3rd cn post and I met you again on July 28. Actually you never said another word to me ever since your first greeting. But I feel so privileged to be loved (upvoted) by you since my epic translation post - you upvoted every single posts that I made. It’s a total of 32 posts. The last one were on Aug 17. That’s when I decided to leave for a while (a week to be precise) to take a rest so I can cool down, clear my thoughts and digest what had happened over the past month. I feel sorry to leave you and all friends behind but at the same time I still think it is such a good decision for me. If…

Only if I come back and find out that you still care about me.

You had been such a steady supporting force for me. You are my muse, my angle and my minimum wage. I am really afraid of losing you. So much has happened here during the past week. Who knows how many new authors you have met and fell in love with. Who knows if the formula in your head has been reprogrammed or not. Who knows maybe there is a no absence criteria for your love… Just. Can’t imagine a Steemit without you voting for me. But I will be strong for whatever is coming. Once you said you were leaving or dead but you were still upvoting as usual. Maybe this break is a test to our relationship. Even if you stop upvoting for me, I want you to know…

I will love you forever and expect you to fall in love with me again. What we have or had is inscribed on blockchain. No one can take it from us. Not even you.

It is time to face the verdict. And I wish you all the best with your curation. I have adapted the lyrics from Taylor Swift’s Dear John and changed it to Dear Wang. Hope you like it. The difference is that Dear John is about saying goodbye but Dear Wang - I hope it means otherwise.

with love, @deanliu

A Song Named Dear Wang

originally by Taylor Swift (listen to her original song here)

Long were the nights when my days once revolved around you

Counting my posting timing,

Praying the precious 30 mins won’t slip through, again

My wife accused me of losing my mind,

But I swore I was fine, you gave me a blue ocean

And go back and turn it to a heaven

And I lived in your voting game,

But you sticked to the rules every day

Wondering which version of you I might get on each post

Tonight, well I stopped silence, and this song is to let you know why

Dear Wang, I see it all now that you’re bot

Don’t you think I was too interesting to be left unvoted?

The guy behind the monitor, waiting the whole magic again, I should’ve known

Well maybe it’s me and my blind optimism to blame

Maybe it’s you and your sick need to give vote then take it away

And you’ll add my name to your long list of authors who don’t appreciate

And I’ll look back and no regret how I ignored when they said “chase as bigger whale as you can”

Dear Wang, I see it all now that you’re the one

Don’t you think I was too lovable to be neglect?

You should’ve known

……

Final note

this post is purely for fun. take life easy. take Steemit easy. that’s my philosophy now.

OWO Farewell

This is a farewell message to the cn crowd. You may check my other post for my initiative to take #oneweekoff . Did not translate all content here, but the Google translated version of my farewell poem may amuse you somehow.

Steemit by @deanliu

Steemit!

Note.

My Poem translated by Google – you will be amused. (salute to an early 20th-century Chinese poet Hsu, Chih-Mo‘s famous poem “On Leaving Cambridge”)

Then do Steemit by @deanliu I knocked on the go , is not as good as I gently come ; I like heavy point , say goodbye to the CN fish congregation.

Dange that the deep sea is the sunset of the bride ; reflections on the shimmering shadow in my heart waves. FEED posts in the heat , lay on the bottom of swagger ; Steemit in the gentle waves , I would be a fish !

That Trending page , not the article is all wisdom ; mixed language between the floating sediment of a rainbow-like dream .

Dream ? Pole a boat to the Abbey line higher verdant ; the boat fully loaded Nie Hui, received praise in the two quarter of an hour .

But I can not accept praise , knock is my farewell music ; Even summer insects keep silence for me , but silence is not the future Steemit! I knocked on the go , is not as good as I gently come ;

I wave of the sleeves , do not take a Steem.

Next post in 168 hours and counting,倒數計時中……
