When I first saw this new look of my Steemit page, I really like it. Later it has undergone some modification and it was all good especially the long waited Feeds (hooray!). After I use it for a while and I suddenly realize:
I DID NOT post more than 100 articles during my less than one month here!
Then I came to realize: ok, the number of post actually refers to the total number of the posts that you started and the post (or, replies) that you made under any main posts (by you or others) - that’s actually how the system works and the steems are calculated in a similar way.
STILL, I don’t want people to think that I am a POST-aholic!!
In the following, I will call them posts and replies separately. Since the reputation system is introduced, even 90% of people don’t really understand how it actually works, people started to cherish self image and be careful not to do seemingly credit-ruining behaviors… that’s good anyway. So IMAGE becomes even more important on this platform. I am pretty sure that writing a lot of articles (i.e. posting a lot) everyday won’t damage your reputation (only affect your reward) but it surly might hurt your image should you want to establish a personal brand.
FIRST IMPRESSION is important
So I choose not to post too many or too frequent. But if I also choose to be nice to people who replies to me or to be active participating discussions where interests me, I do a lot of replies, and these are redeemed ‘posts’ on my first page, making me somewhat ‘eager’ in the eyes of, mostly, newcomers who I might want to impress the most. It is no problem for cool writers - they publish and don’t bother social. But for most people like me, we want to publish a little bit and at the same time being nice to people who got interested in my posts just like normal life.
A SUGGESTION for improvement
I know everything keeps changing here and that’s why I brought up this issue - very small, but might affect tacit communication somehow. It is not hard at all to change. So I show my suggestion in the following (me as example), everyone is welcome to have your say.
See!? Now I have become a 27-post-er (engaging in 151 conversations) rather than a 178-post-er! It certain helps people who doesn’t know the definitions here understand the blogger/author better, also it help reveal the true main posts this author has made so far as no one have time to ‘calculate’ the number of posts (under the Blog tag).

Previously I have shared a few times photos taken in Tokyo and gratefully some friends like them (you may check my blog for them). As my family is currently planning a trip to… well, yeah, Tokyo again, I browsed some photos from 3 years ago and found myself missing the feeling of strolling down the streets of Ginza - an internationally popular shopping area of Tokyo that can satisfy everything that a tourist would need. I don’t particularly like shopping and all, but Ginza will attract you with her ever-changing appearance all day. I especially like to be there during twilight and people swarm to the street with amazing order and sunshine starts to fade away with street lights glowing gradually… Say no more. See for yourself.

Good news for the pedestrians is that Ginza cares about your walking rights! Each Saturday and Sunday, from 12 noon until 5 pm, the main street through Ginza will be closed off to road traffic, allowing people to walk at ease. The Japanese call it Hokosha Tengoku or Hokoten for short, literally meaning "pedestrian heaven".

Yesterday I posted an experience sharing article (link below) at the #cn community and at the end promised to give away 30 voters (excluding the rich) $1.00 as a welcome gift to this community. And with the generosity from @pharesim @abit @laonie and etc… this post reached a first payout of $54.77 and 69 voters have voted to keep this post exposed and this activity fun, as well as to give and to receive greetings. I am thrilled so I decided to give ALL 69-1 voters (excluding myself) a token of thank you and best wishes. Reading this far, you should have learned that this activity is over, and if you did not participate, better luck next time but we still wish you the best here.

The $54.77 payout has been paid by the system: "Author reward of 27.383 SD and 13.316 STEEM POWER", making my total SteemDollar to be $46. This is my short-term budget constraint. Next questions – how to distribute? I decided to do it this way – 3 types and 3 corresponding rewards with number of voters bracketed.
此次的SD作者收入為$27.383,計入我個人帳戶後目前約有$46,這是短期我能支付的最高金額。那要如何分配這些禮物金額呢?我決定這樣做:以下是三種身分與三種金額,括弧內是人數。

I really don’t want to be considered ‘abusing the system’ so that’s why I make everything as clear as possible and give away as much as possible. Besides I tried hard to carry ‘value’ in all my posts including this one. How I generate the ranking? First, click the post and switch to its steemd version by replacing ‘steemit’ with ‘steemd’ in the link. Second, find the ‘vote details (69)’ and click it and you will have most information you need. Third, I use rshares as a proxy for wealth level since I don’t have time to check all 69 users. Then I just apply my rules specified above and calculate it in excel. Viola! Let me know if anything inappropriate.
As to the reward for this post, first I will pay the last 7 apprentices. All the leftover Steem Dollars (and the 4-week payouts from this one and the previous one if any) will be saved temporarily in my account and used in public benefit for the development of the #cn community should any public projects surface. All SPs minus the SDs that I give away will be considered my reward for doing this. I hope that’s fair. Thank you for reading this far. I hope it is amusing as well as encouraging.
Happy Steeming!!
