Share my another favorite ingredient for smoothies!

Here I am again to share smoothie recipe, BUT most important of all, what I want to share is actually a SUPER useful ingredient that goes with almost any flavour!

Last time, I share a DURIAN smoothie and the post marks my most successful article so far:

the DuBaNa smoothie

So, this follow up post is kind of an experiment to see if this kind of subject is really popular here. But of course, at the same time, I do love this ingredient that I use it all the time.

Let’s get to the point. My favorite ingredient for smoothies…. is….

the PASSION FRUIT!!

I love it so much that I usually scoop out the pulp from dozens of the fruits and put it into ice trays and make lots and lots of PASSION CUBES! Yeah, keep them in the freezer and they will be handy when you want instant smoothies!

Passion fruits have a magical flavor that eating it is like eating one hundred kind of fruits (actually its name in Chinese is exactly the fruit with one hundred flavors!). So it can easily match with other fruits to make great smoothies and juices. Unlike durians being dominant, passion fruits are like the concentration of an orchard that grows so many different kinds of fruits… beautiful, isn’t it?

OK. Then I will share a similar recipe using this ingredient. Banana is used as a base fruit of it, and the passion fruit marks its main theme:

Recipe for the PaBaNa smoothie (for 1 person) -

- 1-1.5 banana

- one spoonful (maybe 1/4 portion of the above banana) of passion fruit pulp or some PASSION CUBES

- some ice cubes

- iced milk

then put it all into a blender and blend it. There you go! you got yourself a tropical and healthy smoothie!

Treat of Tokyo - a collection of cuisine from a trip in 2015 winter

I love Tokyo - the food, the city, the neatness, the logic, the culture and the history.

So I am going to share some of my best collection of photos taken from my previous trip to Tokyo. Let’s start with food - you name it, Japanese, Chinese, Western (Italian, French…); or, alternatively, seafood, wine, steak, noodles, sushi; and of course, desserts, brunches, and snacks…

Some of my favorites are shared here. If you want to know which restaurant behind these photos, let me know. I will be happy to share.

Steemit is mysterious ... my one-week wrap-up

I have been here for one week. It’s kinda long in cybertime, but not so in my real life where I spend most of time working… Anyway, share some thoughts with you guys, maybe there are a lot (and obviously keep increasing) of new steemians out there who are like me - excited, thrilled, committed to write with very limited time, but at the same time confused, bewildered and sometimes a little bit frustrated…

Don’t worry. This post, this wrap-up, is going to tell you……

That’s exactly what steemit is: mysterious. like life itself, like the crowd, like existence. Really?! so profound? ha! I don’t know. I am just a new comer. But just thought it would be good to share some thoughts so people like me can know that - You Are Not Alone!

Okay, I will just share two thoughts. First of all, you will get used to a lot of zeros, circles, rounds, nils… whatever you call it. Be positive, they are like smiley faces. You get them from serious posts, casual posts, serious relies, few word replies… all zero… O after O. sorry, O.O after O.O… If you are lucky, a 0.01 will make you smile all day!

Second of all. Not really so. Sometimes you do get lucky. The problem is you don’t know how to get lucky again. Like me. I seriously wrote my introduction with passion like this:

A father from Taiwan, thinking … introducing myself a bit…

But it’s a 0.0. That’s fine. It’s a first time thing. I get it.

Then somehow I came across the idea of sharing my recent smoothie recipe. Just for fun as I really like the taste and can share with no one except my wife (she said it’s the best juice she ever had). It’s here (be careful, there is durian inside):

Share my recent secret smoothie recipe - very simple super good but …

Amazingly. It’s payout is 10 dollar or so… which is unbelievable to me as I haven’t even got ANY reward yet and this post is so casual and not serious… 10 equals 0.01 * 1000. Yes! 1000 times the minimal reward. I of course was thrilled and encouraged to write more..

So I decided to introduce a really inspiring story I’ve heard recently and it really gets me think deep about how my life should be. It’s an amazing story by a Japanese young fellow. I typed every word by reorganizing the story from various sources… I thought this post should get a fair amount of attention, and of course some reasonable reward, though I indeed just hope to let more people know about it. here is the story:

An incredibly inspiring story from a marvelous Japanese young man Yamada …

Well. So far, it is just an 5-vote and 0.48 dollar story. Sure, much better than 0.0 smiley face. But I just got confused. Which way should we go to know more about what the community wants?

But it all become clear after I read @johnsmith article:

Why the Steemwhales are upvoting Crap instead of Your Masterpiece - And why you should be Happy About it

Seriously, don’t worry about the payouts, let the big guys here worry. Have fun writing and sharing and good things will happen. Even if it doesn’t, you had fun anyway.

An incredibly inspiring story from a marvelous Japanese young man Yamada ...

I have checked to make sure that this story has yet to be included on Steem. So I briefly introduce this fantastic story and attach Mr. Yamada‘s facebook link so more people get to know this - an incredibly inspiring story… and the story is still ongoing…

The following information is summarized from Yamada’s facebook (in both English and Japanese) and from Mr. Lin’s fb article (he, from Taiwan and is currently also traveling around the world by bicycle, met Yamada on June 9 and later on wrote up a very good introductory story about Yamada’s 2+ year adventure, but it’s in Chinese)

Satoru Shanti Yamada, 20 years old currently, has been traveling around the world, mostly by bicycle, for 650 days (up to today, 7/21 2016). He left Japan in 2014, when he graduated from high school and had a job for 4 months, with 8,000 US dollars, an old blue backpack with some clothes inside and started his amazing journey until now (yes, he did not have a bike with him when he left home)

He first flew to Shanghai China where he ‘took’ an very old and lousy bicycle from the street (he said that he spent several days to make sure that this bike was actually abandoned), and then he rode it south, into Vietnam, Lao and then Thailand. Since Thailand, he hasn’t spent one dime on food and shelter until today - he would go to places like restaurants and ask if they could give him some food that they were gonna throw away. It turns out that people love to help strangers, especially a young and polite boy with big smiles like Yamada. He kept traveling this way - after Thailand, he has been to Malaysia, Indonesia, flew to India and stayed for 6 months, carried on to Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenian and Russia (during winter!!). After that, Yamada entered North Europe, including Finland - where he spent a polar-night winter in a far-north village, Sweden, and Norway where he hit the headlines of local newspaper with his story… After that, he flew from Norway to the US with just 100 dollars. Currently he is in  Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada (as of July 4th) and he plans to conquer … yes, the North Pole.

(this is not Yamada’s photo. I don’t want to use his photo without his permission - but you’ve got to visit his fb to take a look of this marvelous young man and his BIG smile!)

If the story so far sounds too bizarre and distant for you, maybe the following will touch your heart or make you think or at least make you smile.

Yamada got a 1000-dollar Hilleberg tent for free in Sweden - he just ringed the company and asked for it.
His bike has broken derailleurs - both front and rear, and he uses his fingers instead

Yamada is the only son in his family and his parents said “You go. Go crazy” when he proposed his plan
Many people offered him money during the trip, but he only accepts food or stuffs

* Quoting Yamada, from Lin’s article, …. “I don’t want to live in that Fucking System.”, “Everyone is thinking about making big money, buying big houses and big cars - the world shouldn’t be like this.”, “See, your bike needs a padlock, but mine doesn’t, nobody would want to steal it…”

We all have different and good reasons to live in this Fxxx system. The question is: is it going to become a better one? At least we need to think about it for the next generation.

Thank you Yamada san for inspiring me to think again about how life should be like and I hope more people can learn about (and follow) your story and together hopefully make this world better and better day by day.

Share my recent secret smoothie recipe - very simple super good but ...

Yes, but - but only blessed people get to enjoy it… because you must first accept or, even better, enjoy the flavor of DURIAN … yes! the “king of fruits“ (that’s how most people in Southeast Asia will say and I do agree)… some people cannot accept its strong odor but for us durian lovers, it’s the scent of heaven!

So, you got that right - durian is the key ingredient of my recipe. But the good news is that if you only ‘accept’ its flavor, you still have a chance to enjoy this smoothie because the flavor from banana will dilute durian’s strong flavor and the fragrance from both fruits combine perfectly together!

Recipe for the DuBaNa smoothie (for 1 person) -

- 1-1.5 banana

- one spoonful (maybe 1/3 portion of the above banana) of durian flesh (adjust according to preference)

- some ice cubes

- iced milk

then put it all into a blender and blend it. Voilà! there you got yourself an amazing smoothie!

very easy, isn’t it?
