What’s up fellow Steemians? I cooked a scampi dish last week and would love to share the recipe with you. Hope you will also like this yummy dish, and give it a try yourself! 😋 Believe me - the prawns swimming in rich creamy garlic tomato sauce just taste divine… I ate it with rice as a real Asian ;), you can also mix it with pasta or noodles or potatos, or dip it with bread or crakers or whatever staples at hand - all delicious!

大家好！响应瓜子的Wherein美食活动号召，来分享一下我前几天做的一道家常菜 — 蒜香茄汁虾。因为活动要求3到9张图片，所以除了视频，我也贴出照片和具体步骤。@Wherein是款华人团队开发的分享生活方式的dApp，还没用过的朋友可以点此下载试用。每周还举办活动，记得关注参加哦！

因为常年在外，做饭也经常是food fusion，不断尝试、混合着各种风味和做法。（插播广告：记得参加跨文化活动~ ;p） 西欧这边的烹饪用黄油和奶油的频率很高，我这次做的虾把黄油替换成了葵花籽油，加入了一点淡奶油和番茄，不至于那么腻，同时又保留了汤汁香浓的滋味，很适合这寒冷的冬天温暖肠胃。

最后还即兴发挥地加了些黄瓜片，结果这脆嫩爽滑的意外插曲，跟绵软醇厚的主旋律还挺搭，入口超赞，海陆通吃～（我好残忍）， 让我想起在秘鲁时爱吃的一款菜，叫作“海陆相会”（这诗情画意），就是海里游的大虾和陆上跑的牛（肉），配上被菠菜汁染绿的米饭，太好吃了，有空一定要写写。大爱秘鲁菜，简直可以写一百篇啊～ 住在食物寡淡无味的智利时，每周都要靠秘鲁移民开的餐馆来拯救味蕾。

因为是无可救药的重口味，还用泰国的咸鱼露泡了些尖椒粒下饭。然后用剩下的黄瓜刨片和金酒、奎宁水调了杯金汤尼，清新爽口，妙不可言。

我这正宗的亚洲胃，自然是就着米饭吃， 或者你也可以像很多西方人一样，用这种浓浓的奶油番茄虾肉汁伴意面、蘸面包，或者浇在土豆泥上。总之，你身边有什么主食，一起吃都会回味无穷～ 😋。

- Sauté garlic with oil (I used sunflower seeds oil, you can also use butter):

- Place peeled tomotoes (peel them by first soaking into piiiiiping hot water and then dipping into iiiiicy cold water) to the wok, and boil 1 minute with the prawns:

- Add cream and boil for another minute:

Greetings everyone! Here’s my shot of 2 monks at Phnom Bakheng near Siem Reap of Cambodia. It’s my entry for @daveks’ B&W Photo Contest themed Colour Splash.

When I saw this cool theme, the first images came to mind were the ones of monks in orange robe and dark grey temples. So I digged out this one I took in Angkor, and played with some color splash fun. :) I feel the bright-orange color of their robes forms a great contrast with the monochromatic towers and background. It’s also interesting to catch the young dynamic monks and the old static towers in one frame.

What about you? Have you tried applying “color splash” before? What kind of images do you think are suitable for this touch?

Now a bit more info about the temple. =) Phnom Bakheng is located a bit north of Angkor Wat and south of Angkor Thom. Because it’s on the highest hill in the area, it’s been long attracting visitors for the sunset view over Angkor Wat. However, I was here during noon time, oops… so no sunset view but only a scorching fire ball right above my head… Hmmm, while the scene of these young monks in bright robe by the ancient temples is equally amazing, isn’t it?

Phnom Bakheng, the architectural treasure is the state temple of the first Khmer capital in the Angkor region. As one of the oldest temples in Angkor Archaeological Park, it is a temple mountain built at the end of the 9th century in honor of the Hindu god Shiva.

It sits on a rectangular base and rises in five levels. After climbing some steep stairs (the stairs were not that many, but the heat and humidity in the jungle made it pretty hard), I took this photo at the top level where it’s crowned by five main towers. These five sandstone sanctuaries stand in a quincunx pattern — one in the center and one at each corner of the level’s square. They were all in repair, and most of the original 108 small towers around the temple at different tiers had already collapsed.

各位朋友周末好~ 今天分享的是关于柬埔寨巴肯寺的信息。题图的照片是我顶着炎炎烈日爬到寺庙顶层的平台后拍的，用“色彩喷溅”效果来突出僧人鲜亮的黄（或者是橙色？）袍，和周遭单色的环境形成对比。同时，我赶脚这两位充满活力的小和尚和旁边饱经风霜、静静矗立千年的古塔们同框，也是挺有意思的画面。你觉得呢？:)

9世纪时，吴哥王朝国王耶输跋摩一世建都吴哥，在巴肯山上建立了这个印度教寺庙，用来供奉主神湿婆。巴肯寺是柬埔寨吴哥古迹中最古老的寺庙之一，也因为它在遗址群中的最高地势，成为很受游客欢迎的观日落地点。可惜我是正午时到的那里，只有一颗耀眼的大火球挂在头顶。虽然错过了看日落，但捕捉到这些年轻僧侣在古塔旁边的景象，我也很知足啦~

Hey my Steem friends, how’s it going? It was snowing a bit here in Belgium. I had enough of the coldness, and just booked a flight to the island of Sardinia. Woohoo~ 🎈 Hopefully it will be warmer and sunnier there. If not, I will still enjoy the pure joy of traveling in plane and exploring a new destination! 😃

Have you visited Sardinia? Tell me your experience if you have. 🙂 It reminds me of my solo travels to another island of Italy - Sisily. It was also in February. :) So today I’m sharing some views I captured in Taormina on Sisily island.

I took a local bus from Catania to Taomina to visit this well-known ancient theatre. From the town, I started to walk uphill. It was a beautiful hike. On my way, the cone of Etna volcano could be seen in distance, shrouded in fog and cloud from time to time. After passing loads of cacti and gravelstones, I reached the hilltop where the theatre spreaded before my eyes.

The theatre’s construction was started by the Greeks around the third century BC, and later it was renovated and expanded by the Romans. This well preserved archaeological wonder is located in an amazing natural setting, with spectacular view toward the Calabrian and the Ionian coasts, and you can have a clear view of the famous peak of Etna if weather permits.

It is a place that easily brings people back to the ancient times. It was winter time, so it’s pretty quiet, with around 5 visitors in total. I sat on the step half buried by green grass, facing the vast blue sea and imagining how people in the past was watching those grand shows here. Must be quite an experience, isn’t it?

Later, on my way back to town, I arrived at a viewpoint at sunset, lucky me! So I got to see this splendid scene in the head image. 🤗 Hope you enjoy this view as I did!

大家好~ 不知你那里天气如何？比利时这里继续阴冷，今天还飘起小雪，想想去年这时候还在酷热的澳洲暴晒。。。造化弄人。。。我决定暂时逃离，下个月假期飞去个暖和点的小岛过年。一通搜索后，很快订下去意大利撒丁岛的机票。几年前的2月也是飞去了地中海的马耳他和意大利的西西里岛。今天分享的就是在西西里岛的小城陶尔米那爬山去看古剧场（第二张照片）的经历。第一张照片里是黄昏时下山途中拍的海景。

What’s up fellow Steemians! Today I’m sharing a photo I took in Seville, Spain. It’s my entry to @lightcaptured’s #travelphotocontest themed PEOPLE IN THE CITY. The contest requires us to create a post with only one original photo work. So here it is:

It was a windy winter day. I was walking to the riverside, and looked at the iconic monument - Torre del Oro (the Tower of Gold) at the other side of the street. It is a defensive watchtower erected by the Almohad Caliphate in order to control access to Seville via the Guadalquivir river. Dating back from the 13th century, the tower served as a prison during the Middle Ages. And now it’s open to public as a Maritime Museum.

All of a sudden, a red bus came into my sight, and at the same time, a woman in red was running towards the opposite direction of the bus. It looked like a movie scene to me, so I captured this moment. What do you think of this shot? Tell me in the comments please. =)

大家好~ 今天分享的是我在西班牙南部安达卢西亚地区的古城塞维利亚街头抓拍的一张照片。用来参加@lightcaptured的旅行摄影活动 — “城市中的人”。我很喜欢这个主题，城市中的人和美妙的大自然一样吸引我，都充满着探索的乐趣~。

那是一个冷风呼啸的冬日，天空阴沉，片片乌云笼罩着一座座蜜色的古老建筑。城里的好多棕榈树都被刮成爱因斯坦头。我正朝着河边走，望向马路对面那座有名的地标 — 黄金塔。这是13世纪建起来的防御瞭望塔，处于沿河的要塞位置。中世纪时曾经用作监狱，而如今作为海事博物馆向公众开放。

正看着，突然间，一辆红色的公交巴士驶入眼帘，同时，从反方向跑过来一枚红衣红帽拎着红包的时髦女纸，不知道她是不是要去赶那趟公交。这景象简直像是电影中的一幕，说时迟那时快，我便咔嚓下了这个瞬间。🙂

不知你是否跟我一样，从《塞维利亚的理发师》知道了这座西班牙的古城，非常迷人的地方，还有很多影像想分享，但是这个活动要求只能发一张照片，那我就等以后吧~ :)

下面是补充说明和最近一些朋友参与分享的事例，供大家参考。

⭐ 举例说明 ⭐

我用“跨文化”来命名活动，因为三个字比较简洁，可以笼统概括。不用在别国生活或旅行过，也可以比较自己所处的同一国家的不同环境，比如你所经历的其他民族，或者邻村、邻市的某一方面的不同。大马榴莲王子@auleo就分享了他参加马来婚礼的经历，比较了马来人和华人的不同婚庆风俗。

• “文化”并非只是哲学、艺术等貌似高深的东西，而是无处不在，无所不包。所有文化都为生活所用，除了精神层面的哲学、宗教、文学艺术、信仰、风俗习惯、社会关系、价值观念、审美情趣、思维方式、思想道德、时间取向、生活节奏、解决问题的方式、制度等，也包括衣食住行的日常用品等物质方面。（可以从我列出的这些关键词里找找灵感……😃）

• “跨”是指留言或征文里需要你来比较至少两种东西，看得见的、摸不着的，都行。你也可以说说对你有什么启发，有没有给你的生活带来改变。

你可以选两个大的文化圈，

比如，

最近@ericet比较了美国的测量单位和世界通用的公制单位。

他文中提到了菜谱中用的度量单位，让我也想起一处差异的例子：欧美一些朋友在跟我学做中餐时，总是会虔诚地问我某成分或调料需要用多少，我总是小手一挥，随口答道：一些些…… 后来才发现他们翘首企盼着我给出一个含有“毫升”或“克”的答案。很多以严谨著称的德国人，厨房里更是常备量杯等器具，而我们的菜谱上，“适量”“若干”“少许”这样的字眼屡见不鲜，貌似没有多少掌勺的会小心翼翼地精确到毫升或克。当然这跟西餐中占有相当比例的烘培菜品也有关系，如果不精确一点，结果恐怕达不到我们大部分的中餐这样的洒脱写意~。

@alvin0617说到同各国学生交流合作时的思维碰撞和收获：

因為在學期間就透過學校參加了不少跟其他學校甚至不同國家的學生一起交流的學術活動，這兩三年來有與來自以色列、韓國、大陸以及日本的大學生一起做過報告，有了很大的感觸，對於還沒有去過這些國家旅遊的人來說，通常都會對不同國家的人有著既定的印象：比較保守、比較木訥或是比較強出頭等等不同的想法，不過真正與他們合作過後才發現，並不是每個人都有著這樣的性格，有趣的是在真正合作的過程當中，擁有不同國家的思維或是想法才正能碰撞出不一樣的火花，比如以色列或是大陸人對於口頭發表比較在行，而台灣人或是日本人可能就對資料搜集或是整理報告比較在行，擁有不同文化的人也有不同的優點能讓我們去學習，這是我覺得寶貴的地方👍

你也可以选同一文化圈中的亚文化来比，比如同属中华文化圈的内地、香港、台湾、大马、新加坡等其他华人文化间也是有差别的。然后再选具体的某一方面来举例，同样可以从我上面列出的那些提示词里找灵感……

@livinguktaiwan留言比较了香港、大陆、大马和台湾对bicycle的不同提法：

要數跨文化我覺得bicycle很有趣。同一台交通工具，同一種語言，大家都稱為車，但不同地方有不同的車。
先講香港，我覺得最無厘頭。單車 - 明明有兩個輪，為甚麼叫單車而不是雙車?
在中國大陸是自行車。它自己不會行呢，要靠人。
其實單車(對，香港廣東話是我中文的母語)文化差異這一點，今年去馬來西亞旅遊時突然留意到。第一次看到腳車這名字。車本身沒腳，重點是要加腳。
最後到台灣。腳踏車是我來台後才學會。我覺得這名字非常貼切，用腳踏的車才會走，才有用。

你还可以聊聊自己从各种媒介看到读到听到的跨文化跨地域的东西，推荐让自己受到启发的这方面的书籍、电影、视频、音乐等。

例如，出生在台湾的华人导演李安拍了不少跨文化题材的电影，像家庭三部曲《推手》、《喜宴》、《饮食男女》，通过太极拳、书法、婚宴民俗、饮食等中国文化符号来表现中西文化间的碰撞冲突，不断寻求尝试着包容共存的可能。

类似的跨中外文化的电影还有《喜福会》、《刮痧》、《少女小渔》、《孙子从美国来》等。

去年早些时候我在澳洲看到根据华裔作家本杰明·罗(Benjamin Law) 的自传体小说《罗家七口》(The Family Law) 改编的电视喜剧，讲述了他在阳光海岸长大的趣事。来自香港的父母带着五个孩子住在异国，自然会有各种跨文化经历，常常看得我笑出猪叫。下面是第一季的开场视频：

他的妹妹Michelle Law也是作家，她去年创作的剧本Single Asian Female，主角为三位澳籍华裔姑娘，是澳洲戏剧界的一个突破，改变了单一白人文化的场面。

再推荐一个不错的YouTube频道 — Off the Great Wall, 几个外籍华人制作的系列视频，有中国文化各方面的有趣内容，也比较了中西文化的差异。我五年前开始看的，内容丰富多样、气氛轻松搞笑，虽然最近好像没见更新了。

书籍方面，旅美作家严歌苓、台湾作家龙应台、曾旅居英国的虹影等也有很多涉及跨文化的著作。

去年读了加拿大华裔作家崔维新的《玉牡丹》，我很赞同他关于跨文化的见解：“接纳差异，以求团结”（Unity Through Diversity）。

我断续关注的旅居荷兰的双语作家王露露，也出版了一些中文和荷兰文的跨文化作品，比如新书《美食在中国》（Chineeslekker）。

还有旅德作家刘瑛的博客：刘瑛依旧。她的跨文化代表作中篇小说《生活在别处》也挺有意思。

另外，很多游记类的书或博客，也涵盖了跨文化的主题，比如我以前常读的傅真和顾曲的文章（这类作品太多，但她俩写得比较有趣，角度新颖），当然还有师奶级流浪作者三毛等。
