Greetings everybody! Following my last post of desert flowers, today I’m presenting another type - the cactus🌵 flower.
I shot these photos off the Pacific Coast of Chile, in Atacama region. As I mentioned in my last post, this area is one of the driest places in the world. Since some parts are between the Andes Mountains and the Chilean Coast Range, the moisture from either the Pacific or the Atlantic Oceans is prevented. So you can imagine how hot and arid it is here.
I was totally burned traveling through the Atacama, but at the same time very impressed by the wild beauty of this vast land and the tenacious vitality of the thriving plants such as these cacti and their flowers.

这是我在南美智利的阿塔卡马沙漠地带拍的🌵仙人掌花。上一篇说到这里是地球上最干旱的地方之一,有些区域历史上从来没有过一滴降水。
我跟其他几个来自世界各地的旅行爱好者用了十几天时间穿越了这片沙漠,被晒成黑人。虽然极度干热,蜕皮好几层,但那原始无际的自然美景和人类、动植物在这片荒原上的顽强生存真的很让人惊叹,绝对不虚此行。
