子曰：唯女子与小人之难养也，近之则不孙，远之则怨。这估计是孔子最被人误解的一句话了。大家都认为这是在贬损女性，真是如此吗？孔子主张有教无类，一视同仁，怎么又会去贬损女子和普通人呢？！

有两个字的意义发生了大的变化。“女”和“养”字。“女”是“汝”字，指你的意思。“养”是指相处。这句话的意思为：和你这种人最难相处了，太过亲近，你就会恃宠而骄。太过疏远，你又会理怨我不理你。这是孔子在教育弟子的一些言行品德，并无丝豪贬低女人的意思。当然了，现在很多词语发生了很大变化，理解起来完全不是味了。

孔子论君子与小人的话不少，但是孔子所指的和现代意义上的君子和小人的概念出入很大。孔子所指的君子为士、大夫、事君之人；小人为民、百姓、普通人。孔子所讲的都是事君之道，如何做一个治理者，讲他的施政理念。君子是国家的治理者、施行者，在道德、义理上当然都要比普通人要求高。在《易经》中乾卦第三爻：君子终日乾乾，夕惕若厉，无咎。九三位是大夫位，这也是对士的要求。所以君子为士之阶层，理解起来更为恰当。小人为民，以利为先，首先争取生存，这也无可厚非的。在对比上，君子承担更多的社会责任，对他的要求当然更高。而要求更多的体现在道德律上，所以孔子也更多的在这方面论述。，这也是后来意义演变的根本原因了。

子曰：君子不器。君子不能像器具一样，只具备固定的功能。孔子希望各人都有全面的发展。四书五经六艺，才华多样。当然，这是一个相对高级的阶段，人性全面而自由。但是回过头来讲，君子不器是否定句，“不器”，那就是先要“器”，再达到“不器”。君子之器指的是一技之长，有谋生的手段。有了安身立命之本，再追求“不器”，全面，性灵自由。“仓禀实而知礼节”，吃饱了饭再追求礼节，这与君子不器倒有相应的地方。

现在社会竞争很激烈，“君子之器”都很难达到了，有个一技之长，混口饭吃都难，更别提“君子不器”的境界了。“君子之器”要求人有一技之长，与之相应的是具体的专业诉求。学好一个专业都难，这也是现代人痛苦的地方。直接继承前人的智慧当然好，但是这种智慧多到重负时，这种学习也不怎么愉快了。再加上现在人多资源少，竞争大，君子之器还来不及，谋得一饭碗尚且不易，成为“君子不器”难度就更高了。

“君子之器”相对固化，这也是现代人压抑的来源。试想，人每天做同一件事，你烦不烦？但社会分工又要求你如此，跨界生存难度更高，一般人更不适应了，只能做好“君子之器”。这就是理性压抑的来源。“君子不器”是理应追求的更高自由境界。
