Perhaps they need the immediate stress relief derived from physical aggression. Perhaps it makes them laugh to see a teacher cower. Maybe, because they have no limits at home, they need to be reassured that there are indeed limits in this environment. Maybe they need to know that someone cares enough to tell them to control their impulses.
